Assignment #7

Choose a brand you hate, and rebuild it so you love it. Lean into your strengths to define a vision for this rebranding e.g. create a big idea and express with the tools you’re most familiar with. If you’re a designer this could mean rebranding a logo. If you’re a writer/art director you might concept a print campaign. And if you're a strategist perhaps re-imagine brand guidelines or a developing a creative strategy.

An Afro-Futurist, psychedelic soda stream commercial starring Zoe Kravitz.

“Oasis” :30

Open on a red, desolate, alien desert. All you hear is the sound of hot wind, sand crunching beneath feet and an elephant. From a distance, we see a tiny moving speck, swaying this way and that. We cut in close to show a traveler, Zoe Kravitz, staggering and heaving, leading an elephant. She’s dressed in couture. Zoe spots an oasis on the horizon.

ZOE (say sensually): Water … need … water. We cut to her arriving at an oasis, where a few cowboys have set up camp. A cowboy casually rides over to her.

COWBOY : (shouting back) Get this traveler a drink! A cowgirl rides up with a glass bottle full of water. Zoe stares at the water while an explosive, psychedelic montage of images from her home planet flash before her eyes. She stops the cowgirl.
TRAVELER: Water … with three pumps … light ice.

ALL COWBOYS AND GIRLS at camp: What? (record scratch) A cowboy back at camp stops stirring his warm water. Another cowboy spits.

ZOE: Need SodaStream … sparkling-water machine. The cowgirl’s face melts.

ZOE: It’s what I’ve been thirsting for.
COWGIRL: (holds bottle out to Zoe) I just have this.There’s a long pause. Cowboys start collecting their rifles. Zoe’s stare breaks *yikes*
We hard-cut to Zoe walking her elephant through the alien desert again.
ZOE: Water … need … water… but sparkling. Country Trap music (a la Lil Nas X) begins to play. Cut to a beautiful product shot. Soda streamer burst through wall of light as supers appear next to it.
VO: Make the drinks better.
